Here's a short essay entitled "A Visit to the Grandparents' Place"which I composed when I was 8 years old. It was a Saturday afternoon. Tom and his sister were excited. They had not seen their grandparents for a long time. Their grandparents opened the door and welcomed them with a big hug. Knowing that Tom and his sister would be hungry, their grandmother had baked their favourite butter cake for them. After Tom and his sister had gobbled up the entire cakethey played some board games with their grandmother.
It was a real fun-filled afternoon! Soon, it was time to go. Tom and his sister bade their grandparents goodbye reluctantly, and promised their grandparents that they would be coming back again next Saturday. Then they got back into the car for the ride home.
